I am the kind of woman, who does not experiment when it comes to my hair color. Thanks to BrandBacker and Redken I was given the great opportunity to be one of the first to try the Redken`s NEW Color Rebel Hair Makeup which is temporary hair color.
About The Product:
#COLORREBEL: THE TECHNOLOGY
Using makeup technology with direct color pigments, Color Rebel deposits a very fine colored micro-coating on the surface of the hair, making it resistant against water and mechanical aggressors, such as brushing, blowdrying or flatironing. The hydrophobic nature of its micro-coating limits modification or transfer due to water. Water slides along the surface of the hair fibers coated by Color Rebel.
• Pearlescent pigments create multi-dimensional iridescent color effects
• Water-based ink allows for easy flow through the sponge applicator and dries quickly
• Polymer duo limits the transfer of color and coats each hair individually without clumping
• Clay allows the polymer duo to disperse in water for a fluid application and ultra-thin coating
Color Rebel is available in five different shades:
• Red-y to Rock: True red
• Rebel Without a Coral: Punchy coral
• Punked Up Pink: Fuchsia pink
• Purple Riot: Bright purple
• Gilty as Charged: Gold Shimmer
I received Purple Riot and Rebel Without a Coral.
The Purple Riot looks amethyst color on my blonde hair and a very nice violet-blue on my friend`s African American hair.
It turned into a pinkish color after the first wash 🙂
The Rebel without a Coral looks bright red on my blonde hair and bronze color on my friend`s black hair.
Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of my friend`s hair after she tried the products, but I found two pictures on Google and this is exactly how the colors were looking on her hair, but without dye or bleach:
The Redken Color Rebel Hair Makeup comes in a travel friendly tube container with a sponge applicator. It is very simple and easy to use. It took me only a few minutes to apply it on my hair. The color spreads very well and dries fast. You can layer to create a more intense look. For a more subtle effect, dispense just a drop of product on the sponge tip applicator and use longer sweeping motions to apply the color in one thin layer to a smaller section of hair. Gently comb or brush each section to break up the color pigments. If you do not brush, the hair will feel stiff, like after using a hair spray. Simply apply some hair oil all over your hair to soften it. The colors do not smudge off on clothes or pillows.
The Redken Color Rebel Hair Makeup is a fast and fun way to change up your hair look. The cool thing is that you can always wash it off. It took me almost a month to completely remove the colors from my hair only with shampoo, but if you wish to remove it instantly you can use Redken Hair Cleansing Cream or apply a drop of hair oil to the area where you would like to remove the color and rub the hair between your fingers until the color pigment dissolves.
If you are someone like me who do not like to experiment with hair permanently, using dyes or bleach, but would like to switch things a bit and try something different temporarily, the Redken Color Rebel Hair Makeup is the product for you. It is also a great choice for Halloween!
