How I use Lavender Oil

Even though I just started to experiment with different essential oils, I have always been a big fan of Lavender Oil. I remember growing up, my mom always had Lavender Oil at home and I used to open the bottle and give it a sniff quite often. Lavender Oil is the most versatile of all essential oils. Some of the common uses include:

– Relieve stress, anxiety and depression

– Treat insomnia

– Freshen laundry

– Aromatherapy

– Add to your bed and bath

– Add to your pet’s bath

– Use on vacuum bags

– Scent potpourri and candles

– Add to skin cream to soothe skin

– Treat bug bites, rashes and sunburns

– Promote hair growth

– Provide headache and migraine relief

– Boost your immune system

– Reduce acne, scars and stretch marks

– Relax aching muscles

I have a huge 4 fl oz/118 ml bottle of 100% Pure, Therapeutic Grade Lavender Oil by Applejack Life, that I have been using lately in a variety of different ways and I really enjoying it. The bottle comes with a free dropper which makes it very easy to use without wasting any of the product.

I put a water in a spray bottle and added a few drops of Lavender Oil which works great as a room and furniture freshener. Lavender Oil does have a strong scent at first, which smells wonderful once it starts fading. It gives such a fresh and clean scent to the whole house, which helps to moderate stress by calming the nervous system and relaxes the body for better sleep. Another way I tried Lavender Oil is by putting a few drops in my bath for a full relaxation and spa-like experience. I also love to put a drop on my pillow 30 to 60 minutes before I go to bed and the scent sends me strait to wonderland. The best part is when I wake up, because it smells like heaven. I also massage a drop of Lavender Oil on my dog`s neck to give her a nice scent and it also keeps fleas away. One of my favorite way to use my Lavender Oil is by putting a drop into my palms, rub them together and then run my fingers through my hair to freshen it. Another favorite way of using Lavender Oil is by adding a few drops to a clean washcloth in the dryer and it makes the laundry smells wonderful. I had a few very itchy bugs bites on my leg which I massaged with a Lavender Oil and it instantly cooled the skin and stopped the itch. I also love to mix a few drops of Lavender Oil with Fractionated Coconut Oil and use it for a body and feet massage, because it leaves the skin super soft, moisturized and smelling fresh and clean. For dry and itchy scalp I mix a couple of drops of Lavender Oil with 2 tablespoon of Olive Oil, then heat it up a little and massage it on my scalp, following with a shower cap for about an hour before I rinse out. This mixture leaves my hair soft and shiny. Another good  thing to use this Lavender Essential Oil is by putting some on a cotton pad or a cotton ball and place it somewhere in the corner of your drawer. It really makes the clothes smell good while protecting them from moths. Since Lavender Oil has a disinfecting properties and cleaning power, I also love cleaning with it by making my own Homemade All-Purpose nontoxic cleaner. I just mix 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1/2 cup water and 12-24 drops of Lavender Essential Oil in a spray bottle and use it to clean and disinfect pretty much anything in the house. It works great and is safe for pets and kids. And last, but not least I love this Lavender Oil, because its origin is Bulgaria and this where I am from. 🙂
